Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a Greek-American writer, syndicated writer of columns and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for over ten years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. After moving from Greece to England from Greece at the age of 16 She earned an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. The first non-English student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. When she graduated, she made her mark as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice portal which offered critical observations on the political scenario. She was able to get many prominent contributors to share their views regarding politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes placed her at 12 on their list of the Top influential women in the media. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as the president of their media company and also included several the other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close connection to both of her parents but it was their connection that helped shape her. In her earliest years, she exhibited abilities to lead, and for this her name is still well-known. In her 16th year, she returned to the UK to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the debating group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972, she graduated with a Masters in Economics. In the years following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
